"I wake up and prepare for my workday, not with the burden of going to work, but with the anticipation that I get to photograph someone today!" the artist proclaims. Self-employed and in her 14th year of business, Julie has always had this passion for portraiture, even as a child. "My dad was not surprised when I began my business, reminding me that I had always had a camera in my hand while growing up. Yet, I had never planned for this passion for photography to be my profession."
Originally working on a degree in English, Julie was in the process of pursuing a career in Publishing and Editing until the opportunity to work for a Master Photographer in 1997 changed the course of her academic direction.
The Journey
After 10 years at work in a Portrait Studio that provided great mentorship and learning opportunities, Julie chose to move independently and, in 2007 created Julie Bujer Photography. "Starting Julie Bujer Photography has enabled me to be more available to my family and allowed my creativity to grow while building a business." The best part of it all is that I love what I do and love the people I'm blessed to meet in the process.
Personal Life
That love for the creative process is, however, not the greatest thing in Julie's life. "My husband and sons, along with my daughter-in-law, are the greatest blessings in my life. I give all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for each and everything, every experience and job, and pray that at the end of the day, I've done my best to glorify Him."
Membership & Affiliation
Julie Bujer is a long-standing member of the Professional Photographers of California (PPC), and Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
She holds the coveted Professional Photographers of California Fellowship Degree (PPC-F) as well as the Service Award (PPC_S) and is currently working on the Professional Photographers of America Master of Photography Degree and the Business and Arts Degree.
